2009 WCU TRUMPET FEST PERFORMANCE COMPETITION
Trumpet Competition Entry Form
Eligibility
High School Division
1. Contestants must be in their senior year of high school.
2. Applicants may not enter the WCU Trumpet Fest Solo Performance Competition if they have been named a winner in a previous year.
College Division
1. Contestants must be under 28 years of age on February 8, 2009.
2. Applicants may not enter the WCU Trumpet Fest Solo Performance Competition if they have been named a winner in a previous year. In addition, any current student of a competition judge will be ineligible to compete.
3. Except for the above restrictions, any person currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at any U.S. college or university may enter the Solo Competition.

How to Enter
1. Contestants must mail an application on or before January 1, 2009, to the Competition Chair:

2. An entry fee of $15.00 (payable to WCU Chapter of ITG) must accompany each application.
3. A letter of recommendation from a private instructor or band director must be included with the application.
4. Absolutely no applications will be accepted for consideration that are not postmarked on or before January 1, 2009, or which are not accompanied by the $15.00 entry fee. For overseas deliveries, ten days have been allowed for the postal service to make the delivery. Students are advised to mail their applications well before the required postmark date of January 1, 2009.
5. All entries must be accompanied by a completed, official WCU Trumpet Fest Solo Performance Competition Entry Form.
Final Competition
1. The Final Competition will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2009, starting at 9:00 am. Applicants will receive confirmation of participation by January 15.
2. The competition will take place at West Chester University School of Music.
3. Playing times will be listed on the date of the event.
4. Each candidate should plan to bring his her own accompanist if possible, but an accompanist will be available if necessary for an additional $15.00 per candidate.

Prizes
Winners may be selected at the discretion of the judges to perform with the West Chester University Wind Ensemble during the Trumpet Fest on February 7-8, 2009. Rehearsal is scheduled for Friday, February 6th,
2009. Winners are required to attend the Saturday evening concert on February 7th, 2009. Prizes will be awarded at that time, and include but are not limited to trophies, gift certificates, and a solo performance opportunity with the WCU Wind Ensemble.
